Paper Hearts and Teabags

"Aren't we all like teabags? We don't know our own strengths till we're in hot water."

-Emily Gao

Our hearts are like paper. Used all the time. Its value is overlooked. Fragile. Mistakenly viewed as simple. Each person who is able to see the truth in that heart leaves behind a permanent wrinkle. Each person given the power to hold that heart in his or her hand and do whatever he or she pleases with it can either keep it in its original condition, rip it, tear it in two, or write a beautiful, pure, and colorful story on it.

Thinking about the future sucks.

A lot.

Once you work your butt off in high school to get into a good college, you have to work hard in college to get a good job. Then you have to work hard in that job to earn money to make a living and support a family. Then you have to keep working to give those kids a good life and get them into a good school and then get a good job.

It’s just a constant cycle of stress. There is no resolution. We’re always aiming for a good life… but what exactly is a good life?

Then again… I guess it’s not really about the goal, but the “getting there” that counts.

This post is so cliche.
